SC&RA Receives Confirmation that Members are Covered Under the Extension

- SC&RA learned late yesterday that FMCSA has granted its request for the 30-minute break exemption extension under the Hours-of-Service rules. Members will experience no lapse in coverage as the new extension will be filed in the Federal Register this week. This exemption will continue to save SC&RA members thousands of dollars in moving their freight more efficiently.  SC&RA filed for an extension in March. SC&RA will issue more guidance in the next few days via email and social media. In the meantime, SC&RA Vice President of Transportation Steven Todd encourages all members to carry the SC&RA member exclusive Exemption Packet in their cabs to ensure compliance. To obtain a copy of the packet, contact Todd.
